Nitro Circus LIVE. London, 2013
Travis Pastrana’s Nitro Circus had a tremendous success on their European Tour in 2012 which led to another set of announcements the following year. Both tours had major sell-outs!
I recollected seeing a bunch of craziest stunts in the show which included the 50 feet Gigant-A-Ramp where riders would attempt to land with pinpoint accuracy inside an inflatable Zorb ball. Travis Pastrana gathered 40 of the world’s greatest action sports athletes in a show like nothing the United Kingdom has ever experienced before.
I’ve always loved FMX, especially watching the yearly coverage of the X-Games, so I was beyond excited to see some of my favourite riders. Tom Pages being one of them and WCMX rider Aaron ‘Wheelz’ Fotheringham. Both deserve a blog post of their own – watch this space!
Being a “Circus” would of course include the absolute bonkers, everyone were pushing their limit on their motorcross bikes, BMX, skates, scooters to go up against a range of crazy contraptions; including, a drinks cooler, Barbie car, toy trike, shopping trolley and a boogie board.
About Nitro Circus Live
The Nitro Circus brand, founded by Travis Pastrana, Gregg Godfrey and Jeremy Rawle has enjoyed a rapid rise to global popularity, started by the innovative DVD series featuring Travis and friends performing outrageous stunts and on a range of crazy contraptions.
In 2009, they partnered with MTV to create a new smash hit TV series produced by Godfrey Entertainment and Dickhouse productions. To date, Nitro Circus Live has sold over 580,000 tickets, bringing in in almost $70 million.
As of posting this, there’s exciting news that Nitro Circus is back for their 20th Anniversary next year! After a 5 year break, we are in for what is promised even a crazier show. This all-new show celebrates two decades of record-breaking thrills, death-defying spills and side-splitting shenanigans. Each night an elite roster of top athletes will throw down, led by dual BMX and scooter threat Ryan “R-Willy” Williams, FMX star Jackson “Jacko” Strong, WCMX pioneer Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham, and more. Nitro’s thrill-loving daredevils will push the boundaries of sanity revisiting some of Nitro’s sketchiest stunts and jumping new crazy contraptions. With all this mayhem- plus explosive pyro, DJ sets and more – I can’t wait to go again!
