Bottlenose Dolphin Research Institute | Memories of Sardinia

After graduating University from studying Conservation Biology, I decided to hop onto a plane by myself to Sardinia and enjoy the marine ecosystems out there. I still think to this day it was a dream. The emerald waters, the amazing company and the delicious food was simply perfect.

The first dolphin I met was called “Rinco” who would often scout out first before bringing over his family. Dolphins are so wholesome and this school of dolphins were no exception – they were playful, inquisitive and nurturing with one another. We learnt about the importance of marine biodiversity in the Mediterranean sea and how we can take the smallest steps to protect such a beautiful ecosystem.

If you’re ever visiting Sardinia, I highly recommend you give the Bottlenose Dolphin Research Institute a visit. They are based in the north of the island called Golfo Aranci. Find out more here: https://www.thebdri.com/
